A Car for Life

The following is a blog about a Yorkshire car through and through, one that has spent its entire life within the county.

1968 Aston Martin DB6

In fact it has resided in Sheffield for the full 50 years since it was made and has been used on the roads here every year since. Within this period my family has owned the car for the past forty-seven years and I have been responsible for it for the last forty-two. It has had three owners from new, all living within a couple of miles of each other in the south-west sector of the city, where the car has long been a landmark.

This car has only ever been serviced, worked on or repaired by Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell or myself in Sheffield. No other spanner has ever been laid on it.

It makes me happy to know that the ‘bones’ of this car were made in Yorkshire (see: A Living Legend: Huddersfield and the Aston Martin DB6) and that this has been its home ever since.

Truly a car for life.
